Kintetsu World Express (Benelux) B.V. (KWE Benelux), a subsidiary of Kintetsu World Express, Inc. in the Benelux region, plans to construct and commence operations at a new air cargo terminal in 2024, with the goal of boosting future air cargo handling capacity.
Currently, KWE Benelux’s Amsterdam Branch manages two facilities situated in the Westpoort industrial estate. Warehouse 1 spans 10,811 square meters, while Warehouse 2 covers 4,423 square meters, both approximately 10 kilometers away from Schiphol Airport. The consolidation of logistics operations from Warehouse 2 into Warehouse 1 and the new Cargo Freight Station (CFS) presents an opportunity to streamline operations and deliver improved logistics and air cargo services to clients.
Strategically located within Schiphol Airport’s cargo area, adjacent to airline cargo facilities, the new terminal will undertake in-house Unit Load Device (ULD) assembly and disassembly for air consolidation cargo, catering to a diverse range of goods. It will feature a GDP-certified temperature-controlled facility to accommodate medical supplies and pharmaceuticals requiring precise temperature management. Furthermore, the terminal will hold TAPA certification to ensure the security of customers’ cargo.
Designed with sustainability and energy efficiency at the forefront, the new warehouse facility will utilize wood and XCarb™ steel in construction, alongside solar panels on the roof. Upon completion, the building will attain BREEAM® Excellent certification.
Through the establishment of cargo handling operations at our proprietary terminal, we aim to expand our air import/export business, bolster our presence in Europe, and augment cargo volumes between Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Leveraging our global network, we remain committed to delivering top-notch logistics services.
