Digital Global Systems (DGS) is a forward-thinking software provider that comprehends the profound impact of revolutionizing the wireless network sector. Armed with the essential attributes of efficiency, quality, and reliability, DGS is well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of both current and future wireless environments. By meticulously analyzing Radio Frequency spectrums, DGS generates actionable insights tailored to the specific needs of diverse industries. However, with the rise of IoT, private wireless networks, expanding mobile phone user bases, and bandwidth-intensive applications, spectrum congestion has emerged as an increasingly pressing issue. DGS addresses this challenge by leveraging real-time awareness of signal environments to determine the feasibility of supporting low latency or high-reliability requirements for emerging 5G services. Through the deployment of AI tools and enhanced spectrum observability, DGS not only predicts usage patterns but also optimizes spectrum utilization to meet the dynamic demands of the wireless landscape.

When I left PwC as the managing partner of the Washington, DC, office to join DGS, I first developed the business plan and capital raise strategy. I worked with the existing team to broaden the engineering footprint and bring structure to the organization. Since its inception, I have raised $100M to fund a robust R&D effort to develop a patent portfolio that will lead all firms globally in spectrum management.

We predicted the exponential growth in spectrum usage would outgrow the underlying infrastructure supporting these communication networks. Although initially focused on automating functions like interference management for large wireless carriers, we realized our systems were capable of much more. ` Since then, we’ve expanded into a more comprehensive solution for persistent spectrum monitoring and autonomous spectrum optimization using advanced AI techniques. This fits squarely in the trajectory of 5G communications, dynamic spectrum sharing, and new wireless services that will drive the digital economy.

We’ve focused on developing technology that automates spectrum optimization for several years. We’ve built a robust patent portfolio around our intellectual property. Other companies offer bits and pieces of spectrum analysis tools, but we have a multi-dimensional solution that captures, analyzes, classifies, and locates all signals in the scanned environment at the point of intercept using advanced machine learning and AI. We then produce actionable data tied to customer goals. This allows our software to automate things like interference management, spectrum optimization, dynamic spectrum sharing, and anomalous signal detection.

We saw the need for true dynamic spectrum sharing as a way to overcome the challenges of an ever-crowded spectrum long before it became a pillar in the US’s National Spectrum Strategy. It wasn’t merely about protecting ideas but securing a war chest of innovation.

Our CTO, Armando Montalvo, is an industry-recognized leader in wireless communications. He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University at an early age and worked with industry giants at Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, Hughes Satellite, and others. Today, he participates as a subject-matter expert on several government and industry committees that help shape policy for spectrum allocation, spectrum optimization, and dynamic spectrum sharing. His insights have proven invaluable in guiding our long-term technical strategy and in building our patent portfolio. Our focus is on strategically expanding R&D efforts and constantly pushing the boundaries of our technology platform. This ensures that DGS remains at the forefront of the wireless industry, offering cutting-edge solutions to address emerging challenges.

I believe in keeping communication open and being honest to avoid surprises. I think it’s important to learn from mistakes instead of blaming people for them. Everyone should feel included, no matter their position in the company, and everyone should feel like they can share their ideas and opinions. We put a lot of effort into ensuring everyone understands their roles and how they fit together in the organization. Overall, it’s all about being open, inclusive, and clear about how things work.

Our CTO loves to teach and holds regular sessions on various technical topics for employees over pizza after hours. This commitment to continuous learning cultivates a culture of collaboration and development throughout the organization. Armando is also a firm believer in building people up through education. In addition to teaching at local colleges, he hosts training sessions for DGS employees across all departments to ensure they have a deeper understanding of the technology that underpins our solutions and the real-world benefits that we enable.

At DGS, our engineering teams are constantly evolving to address the challenges faced by different markets. We have a commitment to continuing to advance our technology offerings to expand our market leading patent portfolio. This level of exposure enables our employees to be constantly learning and developing new skills as they take on additional responsibilities in our organization.

At DGS, we are also focused on developing systems that enable wireless communication in remote areas or areas not deemed profitable enough for carriers to invest in the necessary infrastructure. Our ability to ensure satellite networks don’t interfere with terrestrial networks will assist in the faster development and distribution of communication networks, as well as the internet, into remote areas. As a developing company we are not financially supporting any specific charitable organizations.

We recently received the Frost & Sullivan 2024 Global New Product Innovation Award for revolutionizing 4G/5G network optimization and enabling dynamic spectrum sharing. Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in various markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analyses, and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.

Additionally, we won the 2024 AI Excellence Award by Business Intelligence Group. This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to leveraging AI technology in revolutionizing RF spectrum management. At DGS, we’re proud to lead the way in developing innovative AI solutions to optimize spectrum utilization and enable dynamic spectrum sharing. Through our cutting- edge tools powered by AI, we provide real-time insights into RF environments, empowering our clients to allocate resources more efficiently and enhance network performance.

We now have 189 issued patents and have expanded our coverage to new industries as satellite and suborbital devices become more prevalent in real-time communications. We have also seen an expansion of our technology into more government-oriented opportunities as border security and drone warfare become more prevalent. One of the pillars of the National Spectrum Strategy released last year is a focus on dynamic spectrum sharing.

We anticipate additional licensing opportunities as more companies rush to implement dynamic spectrum-sharing solutions because we’ve been anticipating this move and building technology to support this, along with a patent portfolio to protect it. Lastly, since we have been focused on using machine learning and AI since 2013, we have a market-leading position on the use of enhanced RF awareness to drive AI solutions to maximize spectrum utilization.

At this stage of our development, we have been fortunate to have our client relationships evolve from proofs of concept showcasing our new cutting-edge technology. These pilot programs have enabled us to develop solutions tailored to defined customer goals, making it easy to ensure client satisfaction.

One of the pillars of the National Spectrum Strategy released last year is a focus on dynamic spectrum sharing.

We look for individuals who are creative, self-starters with a zest for continuous learning, and team players. When an organization is leading in developing new technology, it’s important to be able to adapt quickly and be creative while working closely with your assigned team.
